    Popular with people who brought their own gear. Its menus are a bit different to everyone else's.

    1. Plug it into your ONT

      On a FRITZ!Box, use the LAN 1 port, not a WAN port. Ethernet from LAN 1 to the ONT port we've set you up on.

    2. Open the router's settings

      Browse to fritz.box, or 192.168.178.1 if that doesn't resolve.

    3. Tell it who your provider is

      Internet > Account Information

      Internet service provider
      Other, then name it Um
      Connected via
      Connection to an external modem or router
      Operation mode
      Establish own connection to the internet
      Account information required
      No

    4. Set the VLAN

      Same page, under Change Connection Settings

      This is the bit that makes it work.

      Use VLAN for internet access
      Enabled
      VLAN ID
      10
      Priority (PBit)
      0

    5. Set the MTU

      Internet > Account Information > IPv6 > Additional Settings

      Set MTU manually
      1500

    6. Apply and check

      Hit Apply. Once it restarts, the Internet section should say Connected. Load a website to confirm.

    Um runs on VLAN 10 with DHCP. There's no username or password to enter anywhere. If your router isn't listed here, the settings on the main setup guide are all you need.
